Digitate Advances Agentic AIOps with ignio Hummingbird, Bringing Governed AI Agents into IT Operations

New release connects MCP and A2A standards, custom AI agents and business observability to enable enterprises to move from automated diagnosis to controlled execution and verification.

Enterprise IT operations are moving beyond AI-powered recommendations towards systems that can diagnose problems, execute approved fixes and verify outcomes. Digitate is advancing this shift with ignio Hummingbird, the latest release of its Agentic AI for IT Operations (Agentic AIOps) platform, designed to bring autonomous action into enterprise IT environments without compromising governance.

Announced on October 27, 2026, ignio Hummingbird introduces specialised AI agents for SAP IDoc management, service desk troubleshooting and patch planning. It also adds built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent2Agent (A2A) servers, enabling organisations to connect ignio’s operational capabilities with existing AI agents and interfaces, including Microsoft Teams, Claude and Gemini.

The key proposition is the transition from identifying operational issues to resolving them through governed workflows. Rather than stopping at recommendations, Hummingbird’s agents can diagnose problems, propose or execute approved actions and verify the results. Enterprise approval processes, change-management policies and audit controls remain in place.

“The next phase of AI in IT operations is not about generating more recommendations. It is about getting work done.” — Ritu Dubey, Chief Executive, Digitate

Ritu Dubey, Chief Executive of Digitate, said the objective is to move IT operations beyond generating recommendations towards getting work done. She added that the platform enables agents to bring operational expertise into enterprise workflows while allowing organisations to build custom agents suited to their own environments and governance requirements.

The three specialised agents address distinct operational needs. The SAP IDoc agent diagnoses failed transactions, proposes resolution options, reprocesses them after approval and verifies the outcome. The service desk agent investigates device issues and recommends possible fixes, including their advantages and trade-offs. The patch-planning agent recommends schedules based on vulnerability risk, downtime, operational scope and available change windows.

Another addition, Make Your Own Agent, allows enterprises to create specialised IT operations agents tailored to their systems, procedures and policies. This extends automation beyond predefined use cases and gives organisations greater flexibility in applying agentic AI to their operational environments.

Interoperability is central to the release. Built-in MCP and A2A servers expose ignio’s tools and operational knowledge to external agents and interfaces. This allows employees to access IT operations capabilities through familiar collaboration environments rather than working across another isolated console.

The platform also strengthens Business Observability by connecting business processes such as order-to-cash, procure-to-pay and record-to-report with the applications, middleware and infrastructure supporting them. Teams can trace delayed orders, stuck invoices and service-level risks to underlying technology issues, helping prioritise remediation according to business impact rather than simply responding to alert volumes.

Security and compliance capabilities have also been expanded. Hummingbird consolidates vulnerability findings, prioritises them by business impact and supports automated patching and more than 3,300 ready-to-use hardening fixes. Each remediation action can be verified and documented for audit purposes. Enhanced certificate lifecycle management and continuous compliance capabilities further extend the platform’s risk-management scope.

The release reflects a broader enterprise requirement: AI agents must operate across complex technology environments while remaining accountable, interoperable and subject to organisational controls. For IT operations leaders, SRE teams and service desks, the value will increasingly be measured not by how many alerts AI can analyse, but by how safely and effectively it can resolve the issues behind them.

ignio Hummingbird is scheduled to become available in November 2026.
