iLink Digital Records 120 Business-Led AI Use Cases Built Beyond Engineering

Its Client Zero initiative has engaged 58 employees across 14 functions, logging 449 AI use cases, with 215 already in production, warranty or final rollout.

iLink Digital is expanding AI adoption beyond its technology teams through an internal initiative that enables employees without formal AI development experience to build and manage AI agents for everyday business operations.

The company’s “Client Zero” programme has recorded 449 distinct AI use cases, of which 215 are in production, warranty or final rollout. Business functions outside engineering account for 120 of these use cases, spanning Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Wellness, Marketing and Employee Engagement. The initiative involves 58 employees across 14 functions, each responsible for at least one AI agent.

The programme reflects a shift in enterprise AI adoption: rather than leaving implementation exclusively to developers, organizations are increasingly looking to employees who understand operational bottlenecks firsthand to identify opportunities and build solutions.

“Nearly half of the agents already live in production were built by employees who have never written a line of production code in their careers.” — Sree Balaji, Co-Founder and Group CEO, iLink Digital

iLink employees are using the company’s iGentic and BEAK platforms, alongside Claude, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform and Salesforce Agentforce, to develop agents tailored to their work.

AI agents target everyday tasks

The Legal team has developed an assistant that checks master service agreements and other contracts against internal legal requirements. Employee Engagement has automated new-hire communications, event reminders, recognition-point notifications and awards nominations, recovering dozens of hours each month.

In Wellness, an employee without an engineering background has built four agents for surveys, monthly reporting, curated content and an early-stage wellness chatbot. A separate agent supporting PERM résumé screening is also freeing up dozens of hours each month for a specialist team.

The Alliance team has built an assistant that scans Salesforce’s opportunity pipeline to identify deals eligible for Microsoft co-funding, replacing a manual quarterly review.

Sree Balaji, Co-Founder and Group CEO of iLink Digital, said the programme tests AI on the company’s own processes and risks before the experience is taken to clients. He highlighted non-technical employees building agents as evidence that AI development can extend to the people closest to business problems.

Measuring operational value

The initiative is designed to build workforce capability rather than focus solely on headcount reduction. Employees gain hands-on experience identifying use cases, developing agents and refining their outputs.

Each use case is tracked by ownership, implementation status and relevant operational measures, including hours saved, turnaround time, error rates and throughput. This gives the company a framework for evaluating whether an agent is delivering measurable value, rather than treating deployment alone as success.

Ratheesh C Krishnageeth, Chief Operations Officer at iLink Digital, said the approach helps employees develop practical AI skills while strengthening the company’s ability to deliver agentic AI solutions to customers.

The company plans to expand the programme to more functions, move additional use cases into production and share further data on adoption and time savings. Its internal experience is intended to inform client engagements, including the selection of suitable use cases, implementation practices and governance.

The results offer an early indication of how business-led AI development can complement specialist engineering teams. The next test will be whether these internally built agents sustain measurable gains as adoption grows and workflows become more complex.
