Deel Launches Workforce Security Platform to Combat AI-Driven Identity Fraud

Alex Bouaziz

New solution provides continuous identity verification across recruitment and employment in more than 150 countries, addressing the growing threat of deepfakes and fraudulent remote-worker applications.

As AI-generated identities, deepfakes and stolen credentials make remote hiring increasingly vulnerable to fraud, Deel has introduced Deel Security, an end-to-end workforce security platform designed to verify employee identities from the initial job application through the entire employment lifecycle.

The launch comes amid growing concerns about sophisticated recruitment fraud. According to Deel research conducted by Censuswide among 1,011 HR professionals in the UK and US, 66% of organisations have experienced an increase in suspicious or potentially fraudulent remote-worker applications over the past year. Additionally, 93% of HR leaders are concerned about deepfake or AI-generated candidates, while 34% believe their existing identity checks are no longer adequate.

“Most vendors verify identity at one point in the process. Deel Security protects every layer, from the first application through the full employee lifecycle.” — Alex Bouaziz, Co-founder and CEO, Deel

The threat is particularly prominent in IT, defence and cryptocurrency, where 75%, 72% and 71% of organisations respectively reported higher frequencies of suspicious applicants.

Deel Security analyses risk signals across resumes, digital footprints, interviews and identity documents. It can identify potential deepfake or proxy interviewers, match live selfies against government-issued identification before an offer is made, and conduct further identity checks at critical post-hiring security checkpoints.

The platform integrates with Deel ATS and other applicant tracking systems, as well as identity management tools such as Okta, providing recruiting and security teams with verification insights and exportable audit trails.

Importantly, Deel retains human oversight: high-risk alerts include explainability reports and are reviewed by fraud experts, while final hiring decisions remain with customers.

Built on technology from AI security company Clarity, acquired by Deel in July 2026, the platform became available on October 29, 2026.
