Latest generation PRIMERGY RX 4770 M3 rack server features enhanced reliability, availability and security accompanied by advances in system consolidation and manageability
Fujitsu’s next generation flagship PRIMERGY rack-optimized server is an enabler for digital transformation, providing superior performance and reliability for business-critical backend data center services. The third-generation PRIMERGY RX4770 M3, a four-socket x86 server, delivers an impressive performance boost thanks to the inclusion of the Intel Xeon processor E7 v4 product family and super-fast memory.
According to the release, the rackable PRIMERGY RX4770 M3 is optimized to run any organization’s most demanding, business-critical tasks. It is ideally suited to complex, data-intensive workloads such as in-memory databases including SAP HANA and system-intensive tasks such as real-time business analytics. At the same time Fujitsu takes into account that organizations increasingly depend on their server infrastructure as backbone for their business, as they can’t afford any unplanned downtime which costs time and money. In the next generation PRIMERGY model, robustness is maximized via enhanced business-critical reliability, availability and security features and further progress in both system consolidation and manageability has been realized.
By upgrading to PRIMERGY as their data center consolidation platform, organizations can also save money and reduceCO2 emissions through lowered power consumption – thanks to Fujitsu’s Cool-safe Advanced Thermal Design. This allows for server operation in an extended ambient temperature range, between +5°C and +40°C, and can deliver energy savings of more than 25 percent.
Reduced power consumption and greater system density mean that the PRIMERGY RX4770 M3 is ideally suited for sever consolidation projects. For example, two new PRIMERGY RX servers can replace five equivalent systems from 2011, reducing physical space requirements by 60 percent. Simplified remote capabilities are also part of the new PRIMERGY server, enabling extensive server monitoring and management regardless of system status – even including decentralized locations, said the release.
