MANN+HUMMEL launches IoT based indoor air quality solutions

Germany based MANN+HUMMEL Group, a leading global filtration specialist with revenues of 4 Billion Euro and 20,000 employees at 80 locations worldwide, has announced the launch of its OurAir brand in the Indian market. OurAir offers indoor air quality solutions that combine MANN+HUMMEL’s deep expertise in air filtration with advanced digital technologies. It is based on a threefold of components which is to KNOW, IMPROVE and MANAGE the indoor air quality by the help of the Internet of Things (IoT). The ultimate goal of OurAir is to provide clean air at optimized energy costs. It helps everyone take control of the air around them and therefore enables to have a direct, positive influence on their health.

“Air pollution is the fourth greatest cause of death worldwide, with 92% of the world’s population breathing air deemed unsafe by the World Health Organization. But while outside air pollution grabs most of the headlines, the air we breathe inside can be much more harmful. The level of air pollution indoors can be between two and five times the pollution found outdoors. And as we spend around 90% of our time indoors, those places we feel safest may not be as healthy as they seem. MANN+HUMMEL has designed OurAir to transform those spaces into the clean and healthy environments that they should be. OurAir is a combination of intelligent products and services that enable you to understand and take control of the air you breathe” said Pradeep Randhawa, Managing Director, MANN+HUMMEL India.

“The launch of OurAir in India is timely. There is an increase in public awareness, growing demand for pollution-free offices and homes, and new government regulations and building standards supporting the adoption of clean air solutions. We expect the market to grow rapidly over the next few years” added Pradeep Randhawa.

The launch in India also coincided with the official announcement of the accreditation of both the OurAir air quality monitors and digital platform by RESET, the world’s first sensor-based and performance-driven building standard and certification program. The RESET Standard is created with the aim of improving indoor environments and occupant health on a global scale
