Dassault Systèmes hosted the second edition of the regional adaptation of the global megatrend event-‘Manufacturing in the Age of Experience’ in Chennai. The event was attended by over hundred representatives from transportation & mobility, industrial equipment, engineering and aerospace & defense companies from the state of Tamil Nadu. Taking the discussion forward, this year Dassault Systèmes is geared up to further boost Indian manufacturing in their digital transformation journey with the 3DEXPERIENCE TWIN.
Manufacturing has huge potential in India. A recent study by a global consulting firm estimated that the manufacturing sector may form 25-30% of the country’s GDP and make 90 million new domestic jobs by 2025. Alongside, the Government of Tamil Nadu is planning to increase the automobile manufacturing capacity to 5.8 million units by 2020. Inaugurating the event, Samson Khaou, Managing Director India, Dassault Systèmes said, “The purpose of recreating and hosting a megatrend event in India is to reach out to multiple manufacturing hubs across the country, connect with audiences locally and showcase the value of 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Chennai and Tamil Nadu is a major automotive manufacturing hub and we have strong inroads working with major automotive OEMs and suppliers across the country. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is a business enabler platform that would complement the automobile policy of the state focusing on future development and consolidation of the automobile and components industry.”
