“The tool is part of Xerox’s next-generation managed printing services strategy,” said Vishal Awal, Executive Director-Services, Xerox South Asia. “The strategy revolves around improving print security, reducing costs, and better utilizing printing and imaging devices in an infrastructure. MFDs are an integral part of enterprises today and carry voluminous data which are vulnerable to malware attacks. Hence, it is imperative that are networked devices are integrated with tools like Xerox Print Security Audit Services to ensure data is secured at every stage of the workflow – from the data path along the network to the device itself. This new feature will further help customers to automate and simplify business processes.

The feature helps customers test printing and imaging infrastructure to meet specific security policies. The tool checks the security of connected devices, printers and documents in a managed print infrastructure. For instance, the tool can send alerts to ensure passwords on connected devices are changed every 90 days. The security tool also can be used for cloud printing services.

With Xerox Print Security Audit Service, for Enterprise Print Service clients, Xerox can configure device settings against a business’s security standards and use ongoing reporting to show compliance or highlight gaps that can then be addressed. Xerox can help businesses to manage, identify and resolve compliance issues in their print environment before they become a security threat.
