Identified as a leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for x86 server virtualization this year, Hyper-V was further enhanced with Windows Server 2012 R2.

Windows Server with Hyper-V has become the leading x86 and EPIC based hypervisor in India, garnering 47.5% market share (ahead of its nearest competitor by 3.1 points) in Q1 2014, according to the IDC study “Worldwide Server Virtualization Tracker Q1 2014”, which measures newly virtualized server hosts every quarter. Hyper-V is a part of Windows Server 2012 R2 and offers world-class features, scalability and flexibility to customers for virtualizing their existing on-premises infrastructure. Coupled with System Center and Microsoft Azure, Hyper-V also enables enterprises to quickly deploy and manage hybrid cloud services.

“The popularity of Hyper-V also reflects customer confidence in Microsoft’s suite of cloud offerings. Virtualization with Hyper-V is the stepping stone for enterprises in transitioning their legacy IT infrastructure to cloud. It helps them keep pace with the rapidly evolving platform demands of modern business,” said, Tyler Bryson, General Manager, Marketing and Operations, Microsoft India.

“Our goal at NxtGen is to provide customers the most cost effective hosting platform. To enable this, we bet on Hyper-V and System Center – and we know we made the right decision. Being on Windows Server 2012 R2 and System Center 2012 R2 made it easier to transform our IT infrastructure into a modern setup. The simplicity, convenience and comprehensiveness of the solution has given us a competitive edge”, said A.S. Rajgopal, Managing Director & CEO of NxtGenDatacenter& Cloud Technologies.

Leading IT analysts have been endorsing Hyper-V for a long time. Forrester was the first to advise businesses in 2012 to deploy Hyper-V soon after the release of Windows Server 2012.

The virtualization of datacenters offers greater efficiency and availability for companies demanding workloads, offering savings and a path to the benefits of cloud computing. With Hyper-V virtualization built into Windows Server customers get world class features and performance. When you add System Center, you can build elasticity into cloud and datacenter. Customers can take advantage of unified compute resources, data storage and networking administration tools which span physical, virtual and cloud environments. The result is greater infrastructure flexibility, simplified IT administration and more efficient and cohesive operations.
