Canvio Basics to act as a reliable plug and play backup solution that also takes care of essential documents and digital content
Toshiba Gulf FZE has introduced the Canvio Basics, a portable external HDD that provides reliable and super-fast file transfers of up to 5GB per second. The HDD is compatible with Microsoft Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and Windows 7, is ready to use and does not require any additional software installation. Powered by USB 3.0 technology, the Canvio Basics is available in the market since September 2014.
“With many of today’s users owning more than one digital device, the demand is increasing for a single backup storage to secure all of their documents and multimedia files from different devices,” shares Santosh Varghese, General Manager, Digital Products and Services, Toshiba Gulf FZE. “The Canvio Basics has been designed to give today’s consumers a comprehensive and reliable ‘plug and play’ backup solution that combines speed, portability and ease of use,” he adds.
The HDD comes in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB versions. The Canvio Basics has an internal shock sensor that helps prevent potential damage from accidental knocks. It also utilises ramp loading technology, a mechanism that prevents disk surface stiction when the drive is not in use. Together, these features take care of your essential documents, digital content and precious memories.
