The two new scrubbing centers add to Telxius’ existing mitigators in USA and Europe.
Telxius, the leading digital telecommunications infrastructure operator, has installed two new scrubbing centers in Latin America to strengthen protection against DDoS attacks on its network. The new mitigation centers are strategically located, one on the Pacific coast, in Lurín, Peru, and the other on the Atlantic coast, in Santos, Brazil, boosting the mitigation capacity of its anti-DDoS service.
These two scrubbing centers add to Telxius’ existing mitigators in USA and Europe and take advantage of the company’s low-latency high-availability submarine cable infrastructure for traffic handling.
“Our customers will benefit from advanced DDoS protection and an increased overall mitigation capacity of the service. Latencies will also improve significantly in the delivery of scrubbed traffic in certain regions of South America due to the strategic location of the mitigators, one on each coast of the continent”, said Mónica Martínez, CMO at Telxius.
This new development adds to the security services and infrastructure that Telxius provides in Latin America over its network of high capacity of fibre optic subsea cables, powering the region to meet the needs of enterprises and people while participating in today’s global digital economy.
The Telxius network spans over 82,000 km of high-capacity fibre-optic submarine cables, including seven next-generation systems: Marea, Brusa, Dunant, Tannat, Junior, Mistral and the recently announced Tikal, five of them in Latin America. Telxius also has a Tier-1 international IP network (AS 12956) offering direct Internet connectivity to major carriers and ISPs, with a capacity of more than 20 Tbps plus a wide-ranging portfolio of capacity, colocation and security services across the globe.
