Sunil Bharti Mittal, the founder and chairman of Bharti Enterprises, has been conferred with the prestigious Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE). The honor was formally bestowed upon him in a special ceremony today.
The KBE is one of the highest honors awarded by the British monarchy to foreign nationals, recognizing their exceptional contributions in various fields, including business, arts, science, and public service. It is a part of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, established in 1917 by King George V.
This recognition follows the 2024 announcement that His Majesty The King had granted Mr. Mittal the honorary knighthood in appreciation of his outstanding contributions to strengthening UK-India business relations. Over the years, Mr. Mittal has played a crucial role in enhancing trade and investment partnerships between the two nations.
