Experienced Leader to Drive SAP’s Growth and Innovation Across APAC
SAP Asia Pacific (APAC) has appointed Simon Davies as the new Regional President for the APAC region, effective immediately. Based in Singapore, Davies will oversee all aspects of SAP’s strategy, operations, people, sales, services, partnerships, and profitability across the vast and diverse APAC market.
Davies takes over from Paul Marriott, who returns to Europe after five successful years in the role. Marriott’s leadership helped SAP expand its footprint in the region, and he now steps down to be closer to his family.
The APAC region, which includes market units across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), Greater China, India, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia, is a key strategic area for SAP. Davies will oversee 31,000+ employees across 78 offices and manage relationships with prominent customers such as NEC Corporation, Coles Group, Wipro, Fujitsu, Shiseido, Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Corporation, Himalaya, Cochlear, and Japan Airlines.
“I’m excited for this new chapter to begin. Across Asia Pacific and Japan, we see forward-thinking businesses accelerating strategic transformation supported by SAP.”
— Simon Davies, SAP Regional President, Asia Pacific
With more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry, Davies brings a wealth of knowledge from working with top-tier software companies, including Microsoft, Salesforce, and Oracle. Before joining SAP, he was the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific and Japan at Splunk. He is also an active board member for several pre-IPO technology companies and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
Manos Raptopoulos, Chief Revenue Officer for APAC, EMEA, and MEE, praised the appointment, stating, “Our next chapter is being fuelled by accelerated cloud and AI innovation, underpinned by our purpose, our people, and our partnerships. Simon combines experience in Asia’s fast-growth, innovation-hungry markets with proven expertise in building high-performance, diverse, and inclusive teams. I’m confident that under Simon, SAP APAC will build on the tremendous momentum established during Paul’s leadership and continue to be a catalyst for innovation and supporting customer success.”
In response, Simon Davies said, “I’m very excited for this new chapter to begin. Across Asia Pacific and Japan, we see forward-thinking businesses accelerating strategic transformation supported by SAP. Establishing a solid foundation in the cloud and leveraging business data is the gateway to exploring new avenues of growth in areas like artificial intelligence, data analytics, and sustainability.”
Under Davies’ leadership, SAP is poised to further solidify its role as a catalyst for digital transformation in the APAC region, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to support customer success and innovation.
