IBM hosted the ‘Data and AI Forum 2019’ in Delhi that brought together key Government stakeholders, industry partners, thought leaders and technology enthusiasts on one platform to discuss the role of Data and AI in fuelling a digital revolution in India.
The forum saw over 150 attendees partake in engaging conversations a number of critical areas including – AI’s transformational power in driving socio-economic growth; enabling framework for development and deployment of AI, Global AI Learnings, cross matching of multiple data platforms and role played by data and emerging technologies in enhancing citizen-centric services.
The key event speakers included Karan Bajwa, Managing Director, IBM India/South Asia; Amitabh Kant, CEO NITI AAYOG, Ajay Sawhney, Secretary MeiTY, Prof Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, GoI among others. In addition, the Panels witnessed participation of senior government officials from various departments and Ministries including: Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of Delhi, CBIC, GSTN, Department of Defence Production, NIC and BECIL, amongst others. They deliberated on effective strategies to embrace the ongoing digital revolution for better outcomes towards development, growth, governance and more.
Apart from insightful panel discussions, the participants were engaged through the Deep Tech Sessions, which enabled understanding on how they could accelerate their organisational journey to AI. The Forum also drew lot of industry and client interest through guided tours to the Demo Area curated to showcase technological interventions being spearheaded by IBM.
