Red Hat Partners with Rakuten Mobile and Rakuten Symphony to Drive Open Source Innovation in Telecommunications

Collaboration to Enhance Open RAN, Private 5G, and Cloud-Native Storage with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and OpenShift

Red Hat has announced a strategic collaboration with Rakuten Mobile and Rakuten Symphony to enhance innovation in telecommunications. The partnership will leverage Red Hat’s expertise in open-source technology, providing Rakuten with advanced solutions to improve network operations, scalability, and customer experience.

Advancing Open RAN and Cloud-Native Technologies

Under this partnership, Rakuten Mobile will gain access to Red Hat’s enterprise-grade Linux solutions, enabling it to manage complex telecom environments while focusing on delivering superior mobile services. Rakuten Symphony, a global provider of cloud-native Open RAN (Radio Access Network) infrastructure, will also benefit from Red Hat’s technology to strengthen its platforms and support telecom operators worldwide.

Red Hat will assist Rakuten Cloud in certifying its Cloud-Native Storage on Red Hat OpenShift, ensuring seamless integration with Kubernetes-native tools. This will enhance data management and storage capabilities across Rakuten’s telecom infrastructure, optimizing efficiency and security.
