Phaneesh Gururaj is Head of Engineering for Ema, India

Phaneesh will spearhead the engineering initiatives from India, driving forward Ema’s mission to revolutionise the future of work through Universal AI Employees.

Ema is delighted to announce the appointment of Phaneesh Gururaj as the Head of Engineering for its operations in India. Phaneesh brings an extensive background in technology and innovation, having previously led the development and scaling of successful technology products at renowned companies like redBus, Koo, and Intouch Solutions.

In his new role, Phaneesh will spearhead the engineering initiatives in India, lead development of Ema’s Generative AI solutions and drive customer and strategic partner engagements. His efforts will advance the company’s mission to revolutionise the future of work through Universal AI Employees. His wealth of experience and visionary approach will be instrumental in enhancing productivity and transforming businesses globally.

Academically, Phaneesh holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and an undergraduate degree from R. V. College of Engineering. In his two decades long journey he has made significant contributions to the country’s start-up ecosystem. He has successfully built and scaled two world-class products from India – redBus and Koo. His technical expertise covers distributed systems, databases, and more recently, Large Language Models (LLMs).
