National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HP, for setting-up cloud enabled classrooms in India. ‘HP Future Classrooms’ is a solution developed to implement creative, sustainable and inclusive models of education using cloud technology to benefit students from underprivileged and economically weak segments of the society.
The MoU was signed by DilipChenoy, MD and CEO, NSDC and NeelamDhawan, vice president and general manager, Enterprise Group and country managing director, HP India. Under the MoU, NSDC and HP will implement the rollout of the HP Future Classroom across India and this will include provisioning of technology and education to help bridge the gap in delivering digital education across the country.
NSDC will be responsible for the digital curriculum content, reaching out to lesser segments of society and identification of partners for the implementation of programs and curriculum including HP LIFE (HP Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs). HP LIFE is a global program that helps students, potential entrepreneurs and small business owners establish and grow their businesses by providing online and face-to-face training in IT and business skills.
Through partners, NSDC will be responsible for equipment maintenance, hybrid learning technologies and monitoring and reporting results. Post course completion, each trainee will receive a joint certification from NSDC, HP and the implementing partner.
