David Cross joins as Chief Marketing Officer and member of the executive team and Geneva Lake joins from Oracle to becomes VP of Worldwide Business Development, MapR
MapR Technologies has expanded its senior leadership team with new appointments and responsibilities. Working closely with MapR Founder and CEO John Schroeder and President and COO Matt Mills, these new leaders will help accelerate growth even further–supporting scale and adding greater impetus to the business’ marketing, sales and business development efforts.
“MapR has experienced incredible growth since the company’s inception in 2009. To continue to scale and accelerate progress, we must have the right strengths and talent in place to support that growth,” said Matt Mills. “Today’s announcement adds talented leaders and innovators to our world-class team who truly share our vision for the future and will ensure we execute effectively. I’m confident that these executive additions will help MapR maximize the opportunity ahead of us.”
As incoming Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and member of the executive team, David Cross will apply his 25 years of experience working with global brands such as Coca-Cola, P&G, and more recently, Ventiv Technology. His overall objectives will be to build the MapR brand, drive consideration and engage customers, all on a global basis. Jack Norris will assume the role of SVP, Data and Applications, to drive understanding and adoption of new applications enabled by data convergence. He will work with the analyst community, and promote the company through PR and with the industry’s most experienced team of technology evangelists.
Geneva Lake will take on the role of VP of Worldwide Business Development, joining MapR from Oracle where she led the North America big data and analytics alliances organization. At MapR, she will be focused on building a world-class channels and alliances network across the globe.
Together, Cross and Lake will add significant marketing, industry and technology expertise to the existing leadership team. Both will report to MapR President and COO, Matt Mills.
