Honeywell and AM Green Join Forces to Accelerate Carbon Capture and Sustainable Aviation Fuel in India

Honeywell

Honeywell and AM Green have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at India Energy Week 2025 to explore sustainable solutions for decarbonizing the aviation and shipping industries. The collaboration will focus on evaluating the techno-economic feasibility of producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from ethanolgreen methanol from CO₂ emissions, and green hydrogen to advance India’s clean energy transition.

The partnership aims to strengthen India’s position as a global leader in alternative fuel production and enhance its energy security by:

  • Reducing crude oil import dependency
  • Positioning India as a competitive exporter of green methanol for the shipping sector
  • Assisting airlines in meeting CORSIA mandates for low-carbon fuel replacements

“The collaboration with AM Green will help advance India’s low-carbon economy and create an ecosystem that supports the government’s SAF blending mandates, positioning India as a global leader in alternative fuel innovation.”

A Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability

“By combining Honeywell’s proven carbon capture technologies and ethanol-to-jet solutions with AM Green’s expertise in green hydrogen and ethanol production, we will pave the way for a sustainable future and reinforce our commitment to environmental stewardship,” said Ashish Modi, President, Honeywell India.

Mahesh Kolli, Co-Founder and Group President of AM Green, added: “We are delighted to partner with Honeywell, one of the world’s leading technology companies that is shaping the future of energy. This partnership highlights AM Green’s growing leadership in clean energy transition solutions while supporting India’s ambition of becoming an exporter of reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective green molecules and derivatives.”

Boosting the Green Economy and Farmers’ Livelihoods

The partnership also holds promise for Indian farmers, as it will generate increased demand for ethanol feedstocks, aligning with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission. This initiative will drive green hydrogen production through green methanol, fostering both domestic consumption and export opportunities.

As Honeywell and AM Green join forces, their collaboration underscores a shared commitment to accelerating industrial decarbonization and advancing India’s leadership in sustainable energy solutions.
