Gartner Positions Informatica as a Leader

Positioned in 2015 Magic Quadrant based on ability to execute and completeness of vision

Gartner has positioned Informatica as a Leader in its 2015 Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools report, published July 29, 2015, based on ability to execute and completeness of vision.

According to the Gartner report, “Data integration is central to enterprises’ information infrastructure. Enterprises pursuing frictionless sharing of data are increasingly favoring tools that are flexible in regard to time-to-value demands, integration patterns, optimization for cost and delivery models, and synergies with information and application infrastructures.”

The report projects that growth rate is above the average for the enterprise software market as a whole, as data integration capability continues to be considered of critical importance for addressing the diversity of problems and emerging requirements. A projected five-year compound annual growth rate of approximately 7.7% will bring the total to more than $3.4 billion by 2019 (see “Forecast: Enterprise Software Markets, Worldwide, 2012-2019, 2Q15 Update”).

The report says that Leaders in the data integration tool market are front-runners in the convergence of single-purpose tools into an offering that supports a full range of data delivery styles. They exhibit a clear understanding and vision of where the market is headed, and are strong in establishing data integration infrastructure as an enterprise standard and as a critical component of modern information infrastructure. Leaders have significant mind share in the market, and resources skilled in their tools are readily available. These vendors establish market trends (to a large degree) by providing new functional capabilities in their products, and by identifying new types of business problem to which data integration tools can bring significant value.

“It is our belief that great data powers great businesses. Organizations that ‘think data first’ are best equipped to place first amongst the competition, especially in this new world of big data and hybrid IT. Informatica’s goal is to help customers put great data at the heart of everything they do,” said Amit Walia, SVP and GM (Data Integration and Security), Informatica.
