Fujitsu Puts Forwards a New Approach to Digital Transformation

Proposes a unique approach towards incorporation of digital technology among organizations launching the “Fujitsu Technology and Service Vision 2016”

Fujitsu has come out with the latest evolution of the Fujitsu Technology and Service Vision proposing a different approach to help organizations incorporate digital technology into the heart of their business, strengthening competitiveness and growing the top line as well as the profit. It also outlines practical steps about how digital leaders can overcome the challenges of digital, by aligning and balancing new digital technology with their traditional IT assets.

In today’s organizational infrastructure, digital technology can be incorporated into products, services and processes, transforming customer outcomes and the way business and public services are delivered. Digital is a set of connected technologies, such as cloud, mobile, IoT, analytics, AI and supporting security technologies that come together to deliver valuable outcomes resulting in businesses and societies undergoing a profound change.

As per the press release, launched each year starting in April 2013, the ‘Fujitsu Technology and Service Vision’ is built around digital technology and how it can empower people to create significant value for business and society. Fujitsu calls this approach Human Centric Innovation, which is the key to driving digital transformation.

Among the key messages of the Fujitsu Technology and Service Vison 2016 was that digital transformation must be driven by a human centric approach. In a digitalized, hyper-connected world, value is created by the coming together of three key drivers, creativity of people, intelligence derived from information and the connectedness of things and processes. Human Centric Innovation is about bringing together these things and Fujitsu believes is the best approach to deliver successful digital transformation.

In 2015, applying this approach, Fujitsu conducted over 300 Proof of Concept and Proof of Business digital transformation projects with its customers. These projects can be categorized in a range of fields such as digital marketing, connected retail, smart mobility, logistics, smart factory, workstyle transformation, personal safety, smart agriculture, facility monitoring and Fintech, the release said.

According to the Vision’16, the new digitalized economy, demands a different strategy. A diverse and extensive range of digitalized products and services will be connected via software, exchanging information, and delivering greater value for people. The value that consumers demand will be co-created by suppliers, partners and even the consumers themselves in newly emerging digital arenas.

For businesses, it is important to set out an architecture adapted to be a part of a digital arena. The competitiveness of a business will be measured by the strength of its ecosystem, how many robust value-creating connections it has with partners.

Fujitsu advocated the creation of a digital business platform, enabling a successful digital business. Companies want IT to drive business value more directly, so it impacts their top lines. How can they achieve this? A digital business platform is the answer. It helps an organization do three things – to empower their employees, to use intelligence derived from data, and to build fast, reliable connections with the external ecosystem. Fujitsu wants to be its customers’ business partner, sharing their challenges as well as their objectives and helping them achieve digital transformation.

Fujitsu provides a digital business platform, called MetaArc. This is a comprehensive framework for an organization to enable digital transformation. Based on scalable cloud computing infrastructure, MetaArc is designed to offer the capabilities of mobile, data analytics, IoT and AI technologies as a service. Fujitsu helps its customers align and balance the full potential of digital with their existing technologies, to help digital leaders reduce complexity and cost and deliver powerful new insights and valuable innovation for their businesses. Furthermore, Fujitsu is developing key AI technologies under a comprehensive framework, called Human Centric AI Zinrai, to realize a future in which people, empowered by AI technology, can achieve unimaginable breakthroughs. Fujitsu is incorporating AI research outcomes into its digital solutions and services available on MetaArc, said the release.
