Elastic appoints new leaders in Asia Pacific

Senior appointments set to scale market impact across the region and spearhead growth initiatives and strategic partnerships

Elastic, the company behind Elasticsearch®, announced several senior leadership appointments in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) to bolster its regional leadership team and accelerate market expansion. Collectively, they bring a wealth of experience from the technology industry to build high-performance, customer-centric teams to support current customers and brands across the Asia Pacific region.

These strategic new leadership hires span business strategy and sales management, channels and alliances, and solutions architecture. They include:

  • Andrew Habgood, Vice President, Channels and Alliances, Asia Pacific and Japan
  • Chris Walker, Vice President, Solutions Architecture, Asia Pacific and Japan
  • Gavin Jones, Area Vice President, Australia and New Zealand
  • Jaebum Im, Area Vice President, Korea
  • Ravi Rajendran, Area Vice President, Southeast Asia

Elastic has appointed Andrew Habgood as Vice President of Channels and Alliances for Asia Pacific and Japan, where he will focus on developing and nurturing an ecosystem of trusted partners who will deliver innovative capabilities and solutions for Japan, while driving profitable growth. Habgood joins the company from Red Hat, where he was Vice President, Partner Ecosystem, responsible for business development and partnership functions.

Chris Walker joins as Vice President of Solutions Architecture for Asia Pacific and Japan. He brings over 25 years of experience working for top-tier software companies across EMEA and APJC. Walker has a strong track record of successfully leading country and regional technical teams to deliver hyper-business growth. Before joining Elastic, Walker was Vice President of Sales Engineering, EMEA, at Cisco AppDynamics. In his new role, Walker will lead Elastic’s team of solution engineers, system architects, and technical specialists across APJ to increase sales penetration, develop new business opportunities, and deliver innovative solutions.

Elastic has also appointed Gavin Jones as Australia and New Zealand’s (ANZ) Area Vice President, where he will be responsible for operations, business development, and strategy. Before joining the company, Jones served as Confluent’s Vice President of ANZ, leading strategic growth initiatives in the region and developing long-term industry-focused strategies. Before Confluent, Jones served for nine years at Salesforce, and as the Country Manager (Area Vice President) for Tableau Software, where he drove the transformation to vision & value-based selling.

Jaebum Im, Area Vice President of Elastic, Korea, joins the company from Cloudera, where he held the role of General Manager, Korea, and was responsible for driving the transformation of the growth model and brand awareness throughout the country. Before Cloudera, Im led Korea’s business development at AWS for the enterprise and industry sectors.

Ravi Rajendran, Area Vice President of Elastic, Southeast Asia, joins the company following his tenure at Cohesity as Vice President of Asia Pacific & Japan. Rajendran brings over 30 years of experience in the technology industry and expertise across business alliances, storage solutions, managed services, cloud, and enterprise software.
