Cybersecurity Rivals Capitalize on IT Outage Fallout

“Businesses are looking for providers they can trust. SentinelOne and Securonix are seizing the moment to expand their market presence.” — Industry Analyst

Silicon Valley, March 18, 2025 – CrowdStrike’s market share is under pressure as rivals SentinelOne and Securonix gain momentum, following a global IT outage caused by CrowdStrike’s software update in July 2024. The incident affected 8.5 million Windows devices, leading to widespread disruptions across industries and prompting some customers to explore alternatives.

SentinelOne has capitalized on the shift, securing a major deal with Lenovo to pre-install its cybersecurity software on all new Lenovo PCs. Meanwhile, Securonix, known for its AI-driven threat detection, has expanded its enterprise customer base, leveraging concerns about real-time security and data protection.

While CrowdStrike maintains a 97% customer retention rate, it has lowered its revenue forecast for 2025 to $3.89 billion-$3.90 billion, down from previous projections of $3.98 billion-$4.01 billion. The battle for dominance in the cybersecurity sector is intensifying, with SentinelOne and Securonix emerging as key challengers in the evolving landscape.
