Citrix Partners with Government on Digital India Initiative

Extends virtualization and mobile workspace solutions to the Directorate General of Supplies & Disposals (DGS&D)

Citrix announced the empanelment of its mobile workspace and virtualization solutions with the Directorate General of Supplies & Disposals (DGS&D), the central purchase and quality assurance organisation of the Indian government functioning under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. Citrix’s Desktop Virtualization and Enterprise Mobility solutions will enable the government to deliver its services to the citizens and stakeholders in a centralized and secure manner.

As government organizations face a dual challenge: fulfilling their responsibility to protect and serve citizens—from security and disaster response and the administration of public entitlements, it’s important that they are able to share and act on vital information as effectively as possible across functions, agencies and borders. With Citrix solutions, government agencies will be ready to deliver and receive digital information and services anytime, anywhere, and from any device—safely, securely and with fewer resources. Citrix enables robust mobile security and identity controls that allow only authorized users to access data, as well as an effective centralized infrastructure that ensures business continuity and rapid disaster recovery.

Commenting on this partnership, Parag Arora, Area Vice President & Country Head – India Subcontinent, Citrix, said “We are very excited with the opportunity to align with the government’s Digital India initiatives and we believe we can play a key role in helping it successfully and efficiently implement these. With this partnership, Citrix will be able to play a key role in supporting the government to deliver citizen services securely and digitally”.

Vishal Khare Director, Enterprise & Government Business, India Subcontinent, Citrix said “Citrix in India has supported large-scale virtualization and mobility deployments across many private and public sector organisations. We believe that the inclusion of Citrix Desktop Virtualization and Enterprise Mobility solutions by the Directorate General of Supplies & Disposals (DGS&D) will enable Citrix to assist Indian Government sector organisations to achieve the Digital India initiative through a keen focus on our core value additions of efficiency, security, centralisation, performance and mobility”.
