Arvind Kumar Sharma, Head – IT, Chambal Fertilisers, joins PT. Panca Amara Utama (ESSA), Indonesia as Enterprise Systems & ICT Head.
Since 2007, ESSA has been operating the largest private LPG Refinery and Ammonia Plant in Indonesia. The company uses the most advanced and most efficient technology in the world in an effort to put Indonesia at the forefront of the LPG and Ammonia industry. LPG and Ammonia are essential commodities to achieve a better quality of community life. Essa is a public listed company at JSX; Indonesian with revenue of US$ 731 million in 2023.

Arvind would be responsible for modernization of infrastructure bringing in new technologies, cyber security, OT security and deploy tools like SAP HANA, Zero Trust, Cloud Computing, RPA, Generative AI, Analytics, etc. to enhance productivity and cyber security of the organization. He will also look at vendor management, people management, skillset development, etc.
Based out of Jakarta, Indonesia, Arvind will report to the board of directors.
In his illustrious career, Arvind has worked with many large companies including Chambal Fertilisers, Binani Cement, Johnson Matthey, Jindal Group, etc. In Chambal Fertilisers, he was responsible for bringing in disrupting technologies including DMARC, Zero trust, Cloud computing, etc. along with vendor management, technology management & upgradation, people management, etc.
Similarly, in Binani China Cement Plant located at Shandong Province, People’s Republic of China, he managed to successfully Implemented ERP Project. He has implemented a first of its kind Central Monitoring Function for all key systems, designed to identify and resolve issues before they affect business operations.
Arvind is a result-oriented IT professional with over 21+ years of rich and varied techno functional experience specializing in design, Implementation and Running IT Facilities, Business Critical Applications like ERP & Real Time integrated application (Bespoke, SAP, SAP BI, SAP Certified Arteria & ARIBA Gartner leader Analytical Tools), & IT Infrastructure setup & management for large multi-location/functional organizations.
He is an effective leader with proficiency in leading teams to deliver SAP ERP projects within deadlines with over 14.5 + years of experience in SAP (ECC 6.0) ERP Implementation, Project Management, Help Desk setup, Pre-Post development & Go live Implementation support. He has hands on experience in Three Full Life Cycle (phase wise) – SAP ECC 6.0 (MM, FICO, SD, HCM, PM, PP, & QM) Implementation projects. Actively involved as Techno Functional Project Manager from IT & Systems Dept. and key decision maker in selection of SAP ERP to rollout of ERP, Maintenance support, Project Management and Post Implementation Support setup to multi location organization.
