Alaris S2000 Series Scanners recognized with Editor’s Choice Award from Better Buys

Better Buys, a trusted authority for delivering unbiased, expert insights on the software and technology that businesses rely on, announced that Alaris, a Kodak Alaris business, has received the Editor’s Choice Award for Q1 2018 in the document scanners category. In recognizing the Alaris S2000 Series Scanners, Better Buys cited several key differentiators that help businesses efficiently capture and manage information.

“Our in-depth analysis shows that the Alaris S2000 Series provides a wide range of imaging features with a compact footprint to fit on any desktop,” said Melissa Pardo-Bunte, Editor for Better Buys. “We’re continually impressed with the Alaris scanning line and the S2000 Series is no exception. Our presentation of the Editor’s Choice Award signifies that Alaris continues to develop scanners with impressive features and forward-thinking connectivity options.”

The Better Buys Editor’s Choice Award is given to a select group of office equipment products as a sign of excellence in quality, performance and value. Each product is individually evaluated and compared against the competition on a range of criteria, including unique features, value to the customer and price.

The Alaris S2000 Series lets users capture information with superior image quality and data accuracy thanks to Alaris Perfect Page technology. The S2000 Series comes bundled with Alaris Capture Pro Software Limited Edition, which uses optical character recognition (OCR) to enable easy and automatic data extraction. The S2000 Series can scan to cloud-based document management and collaboration platforms, such as Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Box and SharePoint.

The Better Buys Editor’s Choice Award recognizes the S2000 Series’ ultrasonic multi-feed detection and Intelligent Document Protection feature that stops the scanning process if it suspects paper jams or misfeeds. Other highlights include a wide range of image processing features such as automatic color detection, blank page removal and enhanced color adjustment and management.

“Image science innovation has been the driving force of our business for decades and we continue to be encouraged by the industry’s enthusiastic response to our solutions,” said Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Vice President Global Marketing, Alaris, a Kodak Alaris business. “Earlier this year, Alaris won the prestigious Scanner Line of the Year Award from Buyers Lab for an unprecedented third consecutive time. Our S2000 Series was also recognized by Buyers Lab with a Winter Pick Award for Outstanding Departmental Scanner. Now, winning the Better Buys Editor’s Choice Award for the S2000 Series is just one more proof point that our smart, connected scanners and software are built for the future of information capture.”
