Veeam Software releases Veeam Kasten for Kubernetes v7.5. This latest version is designed to deliver unmatched Kubernetes-native data resilience for enterprises, with significant advancements in scalability, backup and restore times, and security features to protect against emerging threats and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

In collaboration with industry leaders Infinidat and NetApp, Veeam Kasten v7.5 offers enhanced support for Red Hat OpenShift, showcasing Veeam’s commitment to empowering customers to scale and safeguard their Kubernetes workloads.

Gaurav Rishi, Vice President of Product Management at Veeam, highlighted the future of virtualization: “We foresee advancements in Cyber Resilience, including proactive threat detection and secure self-service restore features, which will enhance overall data protection strategies for Kubernetes environments.”

Key Advancements in Veeam Kasten v7.5:

  • Modern Virtualization: Seamless protection for both VMs and containerized applications, with support for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization and SUSE Virtualization, simplifying VM management and improving backup and recovery workflows.
  • Enhanced Security and Compliance: Features include multi-cluster FIPS support, immutable restore point visibility, and expanded support for object lock capabilities in Google Cloud Storage to strengthen ransomware protection.
  • Enterprise-Scale Resilience: Improved performance, control, and ease of use for demanding Kubernetes environments, with a threefold improvement in backup time for volumes containing 10 million small files.

Veeam Kasten v7.5 integrates with Infinidat’s high-performance InfiniBox® enterprise storage, facilitating seamless backup and recovery, disaster recovery, cyber resilience, and application mobility. The collaboration with NetApp aims to provide advanced data protection and storage solutions for Kubernetes data services, modern virtualization, AI, and cloud-native applications.

Veeam Kasten has been named a clear Leader and Outperformer for the fifth time in the GigaOm Radar for Kubernetes Protection, recognized for its innovation in enterprise resilience, security, compliance, and modern virtualization.
