Vertiv introduced the Vertiv Avocent HMX 6500R receiver, a high-performance KVM receiver that allows users of Avocent HMX KVM switches to seamlessly switch between virtual and physical machines from their workstation. The Avocent HMX 6500R does not require additional transmitters to access virtual machines, opening up fast, easy access and control to data and files all across today’s complex IT environments. It is available globally.
The IP-based Avocent HMX 6500R integrates seamlessly with existing Avocent HMX KVM systems, allowing secure, unlimited access to virtual machines across enterprise and colocation facilities. It eliminates the distance limitations inherent when physical connections are required, while still delivering an uncompromised desktop experience. The Avocent HMX 6500R offers DisplayPort video capabilities and expands data and file access in broadcast control rooms and postproduction facilities, mass transit control centers, government agencies, and for any organizations with hybrid IT architectures.
“Hybrid IT deployments are becoming the norm for most organizations, and software providers increasingly are delivering their platforms in both on-premise and virtualized formats,” said Angie McMillin, vice president and general manager of IT Systems solutions for Vertiv. “The Avocent HMX 6500R receiver eliminates any distinction between those formats and delivers seamless, unrestricted data access across today’s hybrid environments.”
“Enterprises are increasingly favouring hybrid infrastructure to manage data across complex IT environments. With Vertiv’s Avocent HMX 6500R receiver, companies can seamlessly gain real-time, unrestricted access to both virtual and field machines from a single interface. Leveraging our industry expertise, our goal is to constantly strengthen and broaden our capabilities, and ensure that our customers benefit from these advancemnets,” said Smrutiranjan Das, country head – IT & management systems business, Vertiv, India.
The Avocent HMX6500R receiver is also compatible with Avocent® HMX Advanced Manager software, which expands the capabilities of the entire Avocent® HMX family of KVM switches and extenders to create a true, switchable matrix between multiple transmitters and receivers.
